Ooh indeed. 17" iMac, 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 250 GB HDD. Hopefully it will actually keep working for a reasonable period of time...
I've finally had it with Windoze as my PC with XP is so slow it takes about three hours just to read my LJ friends page! I've seen Vista and, like every previous version, it does not look promising on the "eating all your memory and then running down like a clockwork toy after six months" front, so the time has come to switch platforms. I hear once you go Mac, you never go back! :-)
I plan to install Windows on my Mac too (they can do that now!) so I can still use a few Windows-only apps I have, and also poke about and learn stuff. I might try putting Linux on it too!
The Intel Macs will take over the world! All your platform are belong to us! Bwahahaha!!! :-)
I went for the 17" because, well, I don't do lots of graphics and I want something that'll fit in my flat! Got the upgraded innards because I'll need it to last for a while.
Also got some books on Mac OS X. I have the week after next off work so I shall be exploring my new world then...
